A Night Out in Style - '70s Style!

Gifts of Love will host its annual fall gala and fundraising event, A NIGHT OUT IN STYLE on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at the Hoffman Honda Showroom in Simsbury.  Damon Scott, 96.5 TIC-FM Radio host will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the 1970’s themed event which will feature live and silent auctions, celebrity chef stations (Billy Grant, Feng, Dish'n Dat, The Meat House, Cake Gypsy), Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream, complimentary champagne, Retro/Groovy Eye Make-up by Cahoots Salon of Avon,  and dancing to the live music of local band, Poor Gordon. In addition to Hoffman Auto Group, event sponsors include: The Shoppes at Farmington Valley, Carmon Community Funeral Homes, People's United Bank, Vincent Funeral Home, and Weber Computer Consulting. The event's champagne sponsor is The Hair Loft of Avon. 

LIVE AUCTION items include UCONN Women's Basketball tickets (Executive Suite seats!) and car service to/from the game, Lake Tahoe Squaw Valley Ski Vacation package for two, Announcer for an evening with Bob Crawford at a CT Whale hockey game plus 4 tickets, Chef Billy Grant's Special Guests~dinner for 4 at Bricco Trattoria, 4 Hour Performance by rock band Poor Gordon, Helicopter Tour of Newport followed by Winery tour and Wine Tasting, Fashion consulting by Debbie Wright and tickets to Better Connecticut.  Over 60 silent auction items ranging from jewlery, to kids' parties and activiies, to handcrafted quilts, designer bags, to fine wine.

Tickets are $75 per person and are available at the Gifts of Love office, 35 East Main Street, Avon, or by calling (860) 676-2323 or online: www.giftsoflovect.org.  Tickets will also be sold at The Hair Loft, 136 Simsbury Road in Avon and at the door the evening of the event.  The mission of Gifts of Love is to help meet the basic needs of individuals and families experiencing a temporary financial crisis so they can achieve or maintain self-sufficiency.  The organization provides food and clothing, household items and furniture to individuals and families facing a financial crisis due to a variety of circumstances.  Gifts of Love helps clients meet their families’ most basic needs – food on the table, a winter coat, or a bed to sleep in – and enables them to focus on putting their lives back in order and regaining their independence.Gifts of Love - Families Helping Families
