A fundraiser to benefit the Rob Serio Memorial College Fund will be held Jan. 6 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Iron Frog Tavern, 6 Wilcox St., Simsbury.
Bob and Penelope Serio hope to raise enough money to provide a $1,000 scholarship annually to a student entering college. The Serios lost their son Rob on June 27, 2010, when he was just 18. He had graduated a week earlier from Simsbury High School.
The wait staff at the Iron Frog has agreed to donate half of any tips earned to the fund and the tavern's owners will match that amount. A high school band will perform and an additional room will be reserved for minors.

Donations are also welcome at the event and checks may be sent to the Rob Serio Memorial College Fund, Simsbury Bank, PO Box 248, Simsbury, CT 06070.
