Girl Scout Cookies for Heroes!

Girl Scouts in Avon are still selling Cookies! Participation in the Cookie Program helps girls learn five important skills: decision making, money management, business ethics, goal-setting, and people skills.

An important part of the Girl Scout Cookie Program is the Gift of Caring project, Cookies for Heroes. This program provides girls the opportunity to sell cookies that will be sent to service women and men at home and overseas. Last year, Girl Scouts of Connecticut sent 120,000 boxes of cookies to our heroes, and this year the goal is to send even more!

To reach this goal, Girl Scouts in Avon will be holding a Fill the Truck event to benefit the Cookies for Heroes Program. The whole community is invited to join the Girl Scouts on Saturday, March 17th and Sunday, March 18th, 2012 from 8am to 6pm at Wal-Mart, 255 West Main Street to help fill a truck with boxes of cookies for our heroes. Cookies are $4.00 per box or $48.00 for a case.  You can also purchase cookies for yourself during these times as well as March 10th and 11th and March 24th and 25th at Wal-Mart during the same hours.
