How to Help Soldiers Get Books from Home
If you're looking for a way to give back to those serving overseas, check out Books for the Brave!
A Hartford County resident has a goal in mind. She wants to help soldiers serving overseas smile more and she's choosing to do that with books.
Melissa Ashley Horn created a GoFundMe fundraising project titled Books for the Brave. Since its inception in August 2013, $270 was pledged, out of a $20,000 goal.
"I would like to start a fund that will go towards buying books for our soldiers to help keep them smiling," she wrote on the GoFundMe project page. "Anyone who has ever been away from home can relate to the excitement you feel when a package arrives just for you! Let's show our appreciation by donating to Books for the Brave!"
