Avon Trick-or-Treaters Enjoy Halloween Wednesday After Last Year's Ban

Power outages and downed wires and trees led to the cancellation of trick-or-treating in the aftermath of the October snowstorm, but Hurricane Sandy didn't block kids from getting their candy this year.

Many Avon kids were relieved to hear that the power outages and damage from Hurricane Sandy would not get in the way of their trick-or-treating plans.

Last year trick-or-treating was banned because most of Avon still did not have power in the aftermath of the October snowstorm and there were several downed trees and wires that posed a safety threat.
