Tuesday, January 28: 

Endangered Animals at the Hartford Library - Barbour Branch at Hartford Public Library, Barbour Branch. Your kids will create endangered-animal mobiles at this thoughtful program at the Barbour library. Kids will choose five animals to include on each of their mobiles. Students can draw pictures, find photos in old magazines, or download images.

Snowflakes Story Time at the Hartford Public Library - Downtown at Hartford Public Library, The Downtown Library. Enjoy seasonal rhymes, songs, games, finger plays and the best in children’s books. Family Story Time at the Hartford Public Library - Downtown at Hartford Public Library, The Downtown Library. Enjoy interactive stories, songs, music & movement plus finger plays to develop early literacy & language skills. A parent or caregiver must accompany each child at this fun library program.

Hat Day at the Hartford Public Library - Downtown at Hartford Public Library, The Downtown Library. Isn't it great that hats come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and styles? Celebrate National Hat Day by wearing your favorite and creating a silly hat out of paper. Hats are used to make a statement - let’s find out why you wear your hat.

Mother Goose Fun Time  at The Farmington Public Library - Barney. Join us for music, rhymes, fingerplays and stories for the 0-4 crowd.

Wednesday, January 29: 

Grandparents’ Story Hour  at Burlington Public Library. Join us to read, sing, laugh, and learn about area activities! Registration required. You may register ONLINE, in person or by calling 860.673.3331.

Small Talk - Morning Storytime at Prosser Public Library (Bloomfield). Newborns through school-age children and their caregivers are welcome to drop in for playtime, conversation and a child-centered program. Wednesdays at 10:15am. No registration required. Jan 15-Feb 19 and Mar 5-Apr 9.

Threes and Me  at The Farmington Public Library - Main. For the child who is not quite ready to transition to a program alone, this program is the same as Thrilling Threes only the child is accompanied by a caregiver. Registration is required.

I'm Getting Sleepy...Bedtime Stories at Prosser Public Library (Bloomfield). Put on those Jammies and come relax with some calming bedtime stories. "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" will help get those little ones ready for bed. This is drop-in program. Register for reminder. Session I: January 15- February 19

Art Mart at Avon Free Library at Avon Free Public Library. Age 3 and up. Stop by during 12:30 and 1:15 and create a masterpiece. Each week the craft will be different!

Knifty Knitters at the Farmington Library- Main at The Farmington Public Library - Main. Bring a size 10 needle and a skein of yarn and make something wonderful at the Farmington Library! Knifty Knitters is a fun program for kids ages 7 and older - give it a try! Call or email to register.

National Puzzle Day at the Blue Hills Library! at Hartford Public Library, Blue Hills Branch. Share puzzles of all shapes, sizes, and forms in celebration of National Puzzle Day with your friends at the Blue Hills Library in Hartford!

Thursday, January 30: 

Mini Moovers at Avon Free Library at Avon Free Public Library. Bring your 2 and 3 year olds to a free, structured play group at the Avon Free Library! Featuring music and movement for your little kids, you'll have a ton of fun and make some new friends!

PreSchool Story Time at Wood Memorial Library. The fall session of Preschool Story Time, will be held each Thursday from January 16th through February 13th, at 10:30 am .Story Time is free for children ages 2 – 4 with a caregiver. Siblings are welcome.

Book Bingo at the Hartford Library - Albany Branch at Hartford Public Library, Albany Branch. Join our book bingo challenge and learn about fun and exciting books. Winners receive free books to take home. Your kids will have a ton of fun at the Hartford Library - Albany branch!

Once Upon a Story Preschool Storytime at Prosser Public Library (Bloomfield). This program for our preschool-age friends includes stories, songs, dances, and finger plays, followed by a craft. Caregivers will learn about ways to incorporate early literacy into reading and play at home Ages 3-5 with caregiver.

A Page From My Life at the Hartford Library - Barbour Branch at Hartford Public Library, Barbour Branch. Kids will build their own personal memoir for 2014! Add a new page the last Thursday of every month to save what has been significant or interesting. Binders, paper, writing tools and embellishment materials are provided.

Ductivity at the Hartford Public Library - Downtown at Hartford Public Library, The Downtown Library. Bring your crafty kids to the Downtown Library where they will learn how to make a duct tape wallet. Whether it’s a gift for Dad or your own personal bank account, a homemade, colorful duct tape wallet is durable, creative and flat-out cool.

Reel Kids at the Blue Hills Library! at Hartford Public Library, Blue Hills Branch. It’s family movie afternoon! Bring your kids to the Blue Hills Library in Hartford for a seasonal showing, accompanied by theatre treats!

Alphabet Soup at The Farmington Public Library - Main. For a child alone. Have fun getting to know the ABC's! Join us for this early literacy program focusing on the alphabet..Children will be introduced to a different letter of the alphabet each week through stories, music, and a craft.

Movie Matinee at the Hartford Library - Albany Branch at Hartford Public Library, Albany Branch. Come watch a movie and enjoy a snack with your family at the Albany Branch Library in Hartford.

Saturday, February 1:

Monday, February 3:

2 1/2 -3 year old  at The Farmington Public Library - Main. Children and caregivers enjoy books, songs, puppets, fingerplays, film and fun! For ages 2 1/2 -3. The program will meet every Tuesday with the exception of school vacations and April 22, 2014. Please register on the January 28 date.

Tots and Tunes  at The Farmington Public Library - Main. Music and movement for children ages birth through three, accompanied by caregivers. Tots & Tunes is offered three times a week: Come as often as you like! No registration required.
