Patch's Poll: Which Senate Candidate Are You Voting For?

It's primary day. Are you going with either of the Democrats, Chris Murphy or Susan Bysiewicz? Or Republicans Linda McMahon or Chris Shays?

Thousands of registered Republicans and Democrats will head to the polls in Connecticut today to vote for their favorite in the U.S. Senate primary.

In the only statewide primary, Democrats will decide whether to go with Congressman Chris Murphy or former Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz. Republicans will vote between WWE businesswoman Linda McMahon or former Congressman Chris Shays.

In the months leading up to the primary, both McMahon and Murphy have consistently lead in polls in their respective races, although neither Shays nor Bysiewicz have scaled back in their campaigning for the Senate nomination.

According to CTNewsJunkie.com, Bysiewicz is hoping for an upset victory and Shays told The Daily Beast news website, “I wouldn’t be surprised if I win this primary.”

But all polls still show McMahon and Murphy coming out victorious. McMahon, who has has already spent $12 million on her candidacy in 2012, leads Shays 59 percent to 30 percent, according to the latest Quinnipiac poll. Meanwhile, the latest data from Public Policy Polling details how Bysiewicz has a very slim chance of winning against Murphy.

But in the spirit of Democracy, and our Patch election coverage, we want to get some feedback from our own readers.

Who are you voting for in today’s primary? Take our polls (depending on your party affiliation) and share your thoughts in the comments.
