Avon Boys Basketball wins 6th Straight Game

The Avon Falcons varsity boys basketball team recorded their 6th straight win, holding off Suffield 44-35. The Falcons are now 7-2 and a 6-0 league record in the NCCC. The Falcons defense throttled the Wildcats in the first half holding them to just 8 Points. Avon led 22-8 at half. Suffield came out in the second half quickly closing the gap to 22-16. The Falcons who are very balanced on offense were able to maintain the lead behind several different players. Suffield continued to make it a game as Avon led 30-28 with 7 minutes to go. Avon outscored Suffield 14-7 the rest of the way to win 44-35 it was their second win over Suffield this season. The Falcons were led by Jacob Forchheimer with 9, Sean Herrmann had 8, Will Distefano 8, Ryan Marioni 7 and Brandon Feinberg 7. Ed Danek led Suffield with 14. Avon looks to make it seven-straight wins at Ellington Friday, January 20th.
