Avon Patch Readers React to Double Fatal Shooting in Simsbury

After gunshots fired in a Simsbury apartment complex left a young couple dead, some in the Farmington Valley were surprised that an incident like that could happen so close to home.

"Oh no....Praying here.. Not supposed to happen around here :(" Avon Patch reader Marcia Duggan Wells commented on our Facebook page.

Another Avon Patch user left our readers with a prayer for peace after hearing news of the violence.

"nam-myoho-renge-kyo -A Buddhist chant for World Peace thru individual happiness. as an Avon native, I know this is very foreign to our communities, violence of any kind is not supposed to happen anywhere," Avon Patch reader Tracy Lachmann commented on our Facebook page.

Farmington Valley residents' thoughts also turned to concern for the young boy who lost his parents Wednesday night and to the families of the deceased.

"I just read in today's update from Avon Patch that they had a small child together. This is just so sad," Duggan Wells commented on the Avon Patch Facebook page. "Killing someone you once loved or anyone for that matter,makes no sense to me.. I don't even know who these two are but it makes me very sad."
