Avon Police Assist Farmington Officers in Child Pornography Investigation

Police arrested Michael Brown, 31, of Farmington, on child pornography charges and seized computers and evidence from his home Monday morning.

A Farmington man was arrested Monday on charges of uploading and trading pornographic pictures and videos of children.

Michael Brown, 31, of 279 Main St., Farmington, was charged Monday morning after a joint investigation with Avon and Connecticut State Police, members of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

According to police, the investigation began in December of 2012 when task force detectives learned Brown was trading and uploading pornographic pictures and video of minors over the Internet.

Detectives obtained and executed a search warrant for Brown's home this morning and seized evidence including Brown's computer.

Police believe Brown's victims vary in age from 5 to 15 years old and are working with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to try and identify them.

Brown was charged with obscenity, possession of child pornography and promoting a minor in an obscene performance. 

He is being held on $150,000 bond for a court appearance Tuesday.
