Avon Police Looking for Suspect of Reported Disorderly Conduct Incident Outside Avon Free Public Library

No arrest has been made at this time.

Police have received reports of a possible disorderly conduct incident outside the Avon Free Public library.

A complaint was called in a little bit after 2 p.m., and the Avon Police Department confirmed that the suspect has not been found at this time.

Police declined to comment further on the reported incident, as it is still under investigation, but initial uncomfirmed reports indicated that may have been an altercation between a boss and his employee and that the suspect possibly attempted to assault another individual near a dumpster in the parking lot.

Virginia Vocelli, Avon Free Public Library director said that she did not know specific details about the incident, but said that an Avon police officer stopped in to talk to library staff and indicated that situation may have taken place on the work site for the library construction.

"A cop came into the building [to talk to us] and I didn't know anything about it," Vocelli said."

Based on initial reports from the complainant, police described the man as having a goatee. The man was driving a gray 2008 Toyota SJ Cruiser, licence plate 42C951, and headed in the direction of Carmon Funeral Home, on Country Club Road. The car is licensed to Lucas Anderson of Bristol.

Farmington police have already been notified, and Avon police are notifying surrounding law enforcement to be on the lookout for the vehicle.

No arrest has been made at this time, but initial unconfirmed reports indicated that police may issue disorderly conduct and criminal mischief charges. Bristol police have visited the residence of the vehicle owner, and the car was not in the driveway.
