Avon Police Make Narcotics Arrest Down the Street from Thompson Brook School

The following arrest information was provided by the Avon Police Department and does not indicate a conviction.

While many are bringing their bikes and running shoes to enjoy the Farmington Valley Greenway trails this summer in Avon, arrested a Simsbury teen because of something else they said he brought to a trail parking lot near a school.

, 19, had morphine and likely methamphetamine on him, police said.

Police said they found at least two morphine pills, possibly more of the drug, and seven grams of a white crystal-like substance in his possession. Brandon, of 128 Wolcott Woods in Simsbury, was charged with possession of narcotics, sale of a controlled substance and sale of drugs near a prohibited place on July 24 at 3:56 p.m.

He was arrested by the former in the parking lot by the trails on Thompson Road, down the street from . As a result, Brandon was also charged with illegal possession near a school.

After posting a $5,000 non-surety bond, he was released from police custody. Brandon is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 8.
