Baby Formula Stolen from Big Y
The following information was provided by the Avon Police Department and does not indicate a conviction.
Larceny
Michael L. Diorio, 26, 177 Torringford St., Winsted was charged with two counts of sixth-degree larceny on Feb. 3 at 12:01 a.m. Police said he shoplifted about $130 in 25.4-ounce Enfamil baby formula cans from the Avon Big Y on Route 44. Hartford police arrested him because of an outstanding Avon warrant. He was released on a $2,500 surety bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Friday.

Marcos Calvante Bernardes, 24, 151 Buena Vista Ave., Torrington, was charged with second-degree failure to appear on Feb. 3. pulled over a car that he was a passenger in near Climax Road and Route 44 and arrested him on a Torrington Police Department warrant. He was held on a $5,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court Friday.
