Basement Fire Fills Dozens of Avon Place Condominiums with Smoke

No one was injured in the fire, although apartments on all three floors of the apartment complex on Avonwood Road.

A fire that started in the basement of Avon Place Condominiums shortly before 2 p.m. Monday filled dozens of apartments with smoke, NBC Connecticut reported.

Smoke went through apartments on all three floors of the complex at 47 Avonwood Rd., but no one was injured, and the flames were under control by 3 p.m., according to the television station.

The Avon Volunteer Fire Department was assisted by crews from Canton, Simsbury, Burliington and Lost Acres, MA. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
