No injuries are reported and the Avon Volunteer Fire Department was on scene.

The owner of a car that caught on fire at Riverdale Farms Shopping Center Tuesday evening put out the flames with a fire extinguisher before Avon firefighters arrived.

No one was injured in the "routine car fire," according to Avon Volunteer Fire Chief Michael Trick. The cause of the brief fire has not been determined.

“Car fires are very hard to determine," Trick said. "They are generally electrical in nature."
