Country Club Road Crash Update: Injured Passenger's Condition Improves

The accident between a van and a former Avon town official's vehicle happened last week.

The passenger injured in the two-car accident at the Country Club Road and Burnham Road intersection on Jan. 8 is recovering at St. Francis Hospital.

Police said Saturday that the patient status of Li Shui Fang, of Farmington, was upgraded from "stable" to "good."

Fang was injured when the 2006 Honda Odyssey she was riding in, driven by Yanjin Guo, 43, of Farmington, crossed into the path of Avon resident William Robert Hooper Jr.'s 2006 Chevy Pickup truck last Wednesday morning after the driver missed a stop sign.

Hooper is a former member of the Board of Finance and was once a Town Council candidate.
