Granby Hires Retired Avon Police Lieutenant

Christina Barrow gets back into law enforcement.

Granby Police Chief Carl Rosensweig welcomed Granby’s newest officer to the department Tuesday during a ceremony attended by friends and family.

Christina Barrow, a retired police lieutenant from the Avon Police Department, joins the Granby force with 21 years of service.

According to Captain William Tyler the department is lucky to add an officer with her experience and will save a considerable expense not having to train a new recruit.

Chief Rosenweig said that Barrow "has been recognized by both the citizens of Avon and the police department for exemplary service" and is a great addition to the department.

In addition, Barrow is a longtime resident with Granby. Though she has worked in or managed patrol, detectives, communications, and records divisions, Barrow will serve as a patrol officer.

"Ms. Barrow’s training and experience, familiarity with Granby and Farmington Valley, and her local and regional contacts will make her a valuable asset to the citizens of Granby," Rosenweig said.
