Hurricane Sandy: Avon Firefighters Respond to At Least 20 Calls
The following fire calls are available on the Avon Volunteer Fire Department's website: http://avonvfd.org/calls.
On the day Hurricane Sandy peaked in Avon and the anniversary of the October snowstorm, the Avon Volunteer Fire Department responded to 20 calls.
That included trees on houses and other emergency calls.
There were also two fires the next day on Oct. 30, one on Pembroke Drive and the other on Daventry Hill.
