Connecticut Light & Power crews were evacuated from Farmington Woods on Election Day while police investigated a possible threat.
Police said that Zacchary Jarrod Budman, 33, 22 Chestnut Dr., Avon, called CL&P and threatened to shoot or physically harm CL&P workers in the area. Chestnut Drive is part of Farmington Woods.
At that point, was restored and other parts were still without power.
The crews were pulled from the gated community until police located Budman and took him into custody, Lt. Kelly Walsh, spokesperson for the Avon Police Department, said.
He was charged with second-degree breach of peace, a Class B misdemeanor, and second-degree harassment, a Class C misdemeanor. The arrest was made at 7:07 p.m. on Nov. 8 as Election Day was coming to a close.
Budman was released on a $5,000 bond and scheduled to appear in court Nov. 16.
