Police: Avon Man Tried to Shoplift Razors from Big Y

The following arrest information was provided by the Avon Police Department and does not indicate a conviction.

An Avon man was arrested in February after police said he tried to shoplift at Big Y.

Robert Thompson Johnson, 57, attempted to steal two eight-pack Gillette Fusion ProGlide cartridges and two razors from the grocery store, police said. In total, the merchandise amounted to $44.98, according to police.

Police charged Johnson, of 6 Foxcroft Run in Avon, with sixth-degree larceny on Feb. 10.

Police arrested him in Walmart Plaza at 255 West Main Street. He was released on a written promise to appear in court Feb. 20.
