Police: Cellphone Distracted Driver in Previous Lovely Street Accident

Driver is airlifted two days later after a head-on collision on the same road.

A New Britain driver airlifted following a Jan. 11 ran into a guardrail the Monday before on the same road.

Sabadino Parker, 35, told police he was looking for his cell phone when he crossed the double yellow line traveling southbound on Route 177 on Jan. 9.

The front end of the 1995 SAA he drove, registered to Cheryl Parker, was damaged after he hit a guardrail near Old Wheeler Lane, police said. The accident happened at 9:41 p.m.

No one was injured, according to the police report.

He told police he didn't think the damage to his car was bad, so he continued driving south on Lovely Street.

Police arrested Parker on a misdemeanor charge of evading responsibility and cited him with failure to maintain the proper lane, an infraction.

His vehicle was towed, police said.

Two days later, Parker, driving a red 1991 Acura, when she was on her way home from her job as a secretary in the office of Roaring Brook School.

Angelbeck is out of the hospital recovering. LifeStar landed in a field by Roaring Brook School, Crisanne Colgan, the school's principal, confirmed and police said he was taken to the hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

The North Central Municipal Accident Reconstruction Team is still investigating the cause of the Jan. 11 accident.
