Police: Cleaning Lady Withdrew Money from Boss’ Bank Account to Pay Bill

Sharlise Almeida, 25, of West Haven, was charged with second-degree false statement and third-degree identity theft after the Avon incident.

A West Haven women employed as a cleaning lady on Heritage Drive in Farmington Woods used the homeowner’s bank routing and account number to withdraw money, police said.

Sharlise Almeida, 25, used the Avon resident’s money to pay an outstanding bill, according to police. The incident happened in October, according to the state judicial website.

Police charged Almeida, of 66 Third Ave. Ext., West Haven, was charged with second-degree false statement and third-degree identity theft on Feb. 12 at 9:57 a.m.

Almeida appeared in Hartford Superior Court on Feb. 27. Her case was continued to March 20 and a judge is awaiting her plea.

She turned herself in to Avon police on an arrest warrant. Police released her on a $1,000 non-surety bond.
