Nicholas Karski, 18, was charged with illegal manufacturing/sale/distribution of LSD and marijuana possession.

Avon police seized six strands of LSD from an Avonwood Road apartment on May 18, as well as one ounce of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and $1,000 in cash.

Nicholas Karski, 18, an Avon High School senior, was charged with illegal manufacturing, sale or distribution of LSD, sale of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, interfering with a search warrant, tampering with physical evidence, interfering with an officer and possession of a controlled substance, under 4 ounces of marijuana.

Police responded to 48 Avonwood Rd., Apt. 110, where Karski lives, to serve a search and seizure warrant. The LSD was wrapped in tin foil, police said.

Karski posted a $10,000 surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Hartford Superior Court on May 30.

Avon Public Schools Superintendent Gary Mala declined to comment on whether Karski has been disciplined or whether he'll still be allowed to walk with his class at graduation.

Further details are not available at this time because the warrant is sealed, but Avon Patch will provide more details as they become available.
