Three Injured in Crash at Lovely and Country Club Intersection

Three car accident happened in Avon late Tuesday afternoon.

A three-car motor vehicle accident late Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of Lovely St. and Country Club Rd. in Avon sent three people to local hospitals with injuries.

Avon Police do not know the full extent of the injuries, but according to Capt. Jeffrey Blatter, as of Wednesday morning there is "no indication that the injuries were life-threatening."

Blatter said that the accident, which occurred at approximately 5 p.m. Tuesday, involved three vehicles. One of the cars came to rest on the hood of another of the vehicles involved in the incident.

Two of the vehicles had sole occupants, and one had a passenger. Blatter said that the occupants were from Avon, Canton, and Burlington, and ranged in age from 30 to 46, but the names of the drivers and passenger have not yet been released.

One of the parties had to be extricated from a vehicle, Blatter said.

The cause of the accident has not yet been determined, and Blatter said he does not know if it was related to often-cited dangerous conditions at the Lovely St. and Country Club Rd. intersection. The topic of a light and a signalized crosswalk at that intersection has been a topic of discussion, and state funding for the project was announced in April.

Avon police are continuing their investigation, Blatter said.
