Two Car Accidents Due to Slippery Roads

The following information was provided by the Avon Police Department.

On Leap Day evening, there were two car accidents due to slippery road conditions following snowfall earlier on.

At 4:23 p.m. on Feb. 29, a car drove over the double yellow lines on Lovely Street near Craigmore Circle and hit two cars, damaging the left rear fender of the first and the left front bumper of the other, police said.The road was closed until 5:05 p.m.

One individual from the three-car crash when to St. Francis after complaining about neck pains, police said.

Later on, at around 8 p.m., tires of a 2010 Dodge Challenger driving on slipped on the snow, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle and strike a tree, police said. An American Medical Response ambulance brought the person to St. Francis to be treated for severe chest pain.

There was a passenger in the car, as well, who complained of right elbow and left knee pain, police said.
