Unionville Resident Charged with DUI and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

The following arrests were provided by the Avon Police Department Records Division.

DUI

Andrew J. Welna, 21, 135 Burlington Rd., Unionville, was arrested on Lovely Street May 23 at 1:19 a.m. on charges of failure to drive in the proper lane, operating a vehicle while under the influence, posession of a controlled substance or under 4 ounces of marijuana, possession or use of drug paraphernalia and traveling unreasonably fast. Police released him on a $1,000 non-surety bond and he is scheduled to appear in court on June 8.

RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT

Robert Finley Hyde, 31, 5 Deer Park Rd., Weatogue, was arrested on a warrant on charges of second-degree reckless endangerment at the intersection of Country Club Road and West Avon Road at 7:06 p.m. on May 22. On April 17, Jackson Street residents hired Hyde to remove a tree, which police said he did not secure properly. The tree fell on a Connecticut Light and Power pole on Stevens Street, breaking it in half, police said. Police released him on a $500 non-surety bond and he is scheduled to appear in court on June 1.

DUI

Marie Danielle Gauvin, 53, 7 Catalpia Ct. Avon, was arrested May 21 at 6:10 p.m. at the intersection of West Main Street and Darling Drive on charges of failure to drive in the proper lane and operating a vehicle while under the influence. Police released her on a $500 non-surety bond and she is schedule to appear in court on June 1.

VIOLATION OF A PROTECTIVE ORDER

Robert Pawlicki, 18, 493 Huckleberry Hill Rd., Avon, was arrested on charges of criminal violation of a protective order and possession or use of drug paraphernalia on May 20 at 12:10 p.m. Police released him on a $1,000 non-surety bond and he was scheduled to appear in court on May 23.
