Woman Injured in November Crash Charged with DUI

The following arrest information was provided by the Avon Police Department and does not indicate a conviction.

A Waterbury woman and former Manchester resident seriously injured in a November one-car crash turned herself in on an arrest warrant after her release from the hospital, police said Thursday.

On Jan. 8 police charged Jessica A. Farren, 26, with operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Farren, of 380 Hitchcock Rd., Apt. 201, Waterbury, was also cited with failure to drive in the proper lane and passing on the right.

Police said Farren was intoxicated when she crashed her car into a utility pole Nov. 5 in front of the Avon Police Department on Route 44. After Avon volunteer firefighters extricated Farren from her car, Life Star airlifted her to an area hospital. She was treated for life-threatening injuries in the Intensive Care Unit.
