GOVERNMENT MEETINGS
Tuesday, Sept. 20

- The Avon Board of Education Policy Committee will meet at 6 p.m. at Avon High School on Sept. 20. The meeting agenda is attached.

- The Avon Library Board is scheduled to meet at 7:30 p.m. at the Avon Free Public Library's History Room on Sept. 20.
Wednesday, Sept. 21
- The Library Building Committee is scheduled to hold a special meeting on Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. in the Avon Room in the basement of Town Hall, Building One.
- The Administrative Services Study Committee is scheduled to meet on Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. in the Selectmen's Chamber at Town Hall, Building One.

OTHER MAJOR EVENTS
Monday, Sept. 19
- The "Extreme Weather: Attack From The Sky!" program, scheduled for 12:30 p.m. at the Avon Senior Center, highlights the extreme weather in the past year and survival methods
Wednesday, Sept. 21
- Rosh Hashanah Story Time and Crafts is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at the Avon library.
Thursday, Sept. 22
- The film, Tootsie will be shown at the at 1:30 p.m. for the weekly Thursday Movie Matinee, co-sponsored by the senior center and Friends of the Avon Public Library.
- If you eat at between 3 and 9 p.m., 10 percent of the proceeds will benefit the Avon Historical Soceity's efforts to restore the old Horse Guard barn on West Avon Road.
Friday, Sept. 23
- The annual clothing sale is scheduled for 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at the church on 289 Arch Rd. Admission costs $3.
Saturday, Sept. 24
- The Church of Saint Ann's clothing sale continues Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church. Admission is free.
- There will be an arts and crafts sale at 10 a.m. in Old Avon Village.
- Saturday marks the 30th anniversary of Avon Day. The festival will run from 11 to 6:30 p.m. at Thompson Brook School.
