Avon Town Council to Discuss Possible Claims in Executive Session

The Town Council meets at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12 in the Town Council Chamber.

The Town Council will discuss preliminary and pending claims in executive session toward the end of its meeting Thursday night.

Avon Town Manager Brandon Robertson is slated to update the council on  a "possible claim against the town and/or fire department" and a series of heart and hypertension claims submitted to the town.

Robertson said that he does not expect any action to be taken on either item at the meeting. Town Council members are required to vote on action items in regular session.

The Avon Volunteer Fire Department and Robertson declined to comment on the specifics of the first claim listed on the meeting agenda against the town and fire department.

"The matter is appropriate for discussion in executive session," Robertson wrote to Patch in an email, "so that is all the detail that can be provided."

The Avon Town Council will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the Selectmen's Chamber in Town Hall, building 1, at 60 West Main St.
