TOWN MEETINGS

Tuesday, Nov. 15

• The Board of Education Policy Committee is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Avon High School
• The Board of Education is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. at Avon High School Tuesday.
• The Town Council is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Selectmen's Chamber in Town Hall, Building One.
• The Avon Library Board is scheduled to meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Avon Free Public Library.

Wednesday, Nov. 16

• The Library Building Committee is scheduled to meet 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Avon Room in Town Hall, Building One.
• The Administrative Services Study Committee is scheduled to meet 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Selectmen's Chamber in Town Hall, Building One.
• The Town Council is scheduled to hold a special meeting in the Selectmen's Conference Room in Town Hall.

Thursday, Nov. 17

• The Zoning Board of Appeals is scheduled to meet at 7:30 p.m. in the Avon Room in Town Hall.

AVON HIGH SCHOOL STATE TOURNAMENT GAMES

• Avon boys varsity soccer will face E.O. Smith in round two of the state tournament on Nov. 14 at 2 p.m. at Avon High School.
• Avon varsity field hockey is scheduled to play Joel Barlow on Nov. 14 at 2 p.m. at Avon High.
• Avon girls varsity soccer is scheduled to play Berlin in the quarterfinals at 2 p.m. at Avon High School on Nov. 15.

OTHER MAJOR EVENTS

• As a reminder, the Avon library through Thanksgiving.
• A program called Victorian Quilts and Tradition is scheduled at the Avon Senior Center at 1 p.m.
• Gifts of Love's Night Out in Style is scheduled for Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. at the Hoffman Honda Showroom at 40 Albany Turnpike in Simsbury. This year the style is the '70s.
• Miller Foods has a string of events this week, including a Horse Guard Appreciation meet and greet Nov. 17 6:30 to 8 p.m. and the grand opening of its Thanksgiving tent Nov. 19 at 9 a.m. (Avon Patch will be serving free coffee).
