Huckleberry Hill Road Water Main Replacement - Informational Hearing

Connecticut Water Company (CWC) will be replacing nearly 2 miles of water main on Huckleberry Hill Road betwee the Farmington Town Line and Country Side Park. Weather permitting the work will begin on June 27.

CWC, representatives of the Town of Avon and the contractor  are holding an informational meeting on the project on Wednesday, June 22, at 7 PM in the Selectman's Chambers of Avon Town Hall.

The project is expected to take approximately six months to complete. The estimated $1.9 million cost of the project is being funded thruogh the Water Infrastructure and Conservation Adjustment (WICA). WICA is small surcharge fee paid by customers to promote the replacement of aging pipelines to enhance service relaibility, improve fire flows to hydrants, and reduce resources lost to leaking pipes.

The water main being replaced is nearly 125 years old. 

Customers directly impacted by the project were notified of the meeting by CWC.
