Remember - Reflect - Recommit: Avon Volunteer Fire Department Plans 9/11 Memorial Service

On September 11, 2001 343 FDNY firefighters, 23 NYPD officers, 37 Port Authority Police, and eight private EMS/EMT paramedics made the ultimate sacrifice answering the call.  On Tuesday, September 11, 2012, the AVFD will host a memorial service commemorating the lives lost and the heroism displayed during the terrorist attacks on our nation.  The program will begin at 8:30 a.m. at Company 1 located at 25 Darling Drive.  All are welcome to attend and renew the promise Americans made 11 years ago when we vowed to never forget, to always remember.

For more information, please call the AVFD at 677-2644. The AVFD is also online at www.avonvfd.org and www.facebook.com/AvonVFD.
