  • The Board of Finance budget public hearing is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Avon Senior Center.

  • The Planning and Zoning Commission is scheduled to meet at 7:30 p.m. in .

Wednesday, April 11

  • The Board of Finance is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. at the senior center for its budget workshop.

April 10

  • The is in Farmington Woods at 7:30 a.m. on April 10.  There may be low water pressures, pressure surges, "periodic loss of water" and/or "discolored water" at the condo complexes during the flushing procedures. Residents of Farmington Woods are advised to have drinking water set aside in advance of the flushing and to avoid doing laundry during that period. If you have questions, contact the water company at 860-678-0001.

  • Who's got talent? Share your special skill with other seniors at a program on Tuesday at the senior center, whether its art, singing, writing or something else. Share Your Talent starts at 12:30 p.m. To sign up, contact the senior center at 860-675-4355.

  • Let's Talk About It: Making Sense of the Civil War is scheduled to be held at at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. 

April 12

  • A Letter to Three Wives is showing as part of the Thursday Movie Matinee series co-sponsored by , Friends of the Avon Library and the senior center. In the film, a letter from a woman to three of her friends states that she is running away from one of their husbands. But, who? The film stars Jeanne Crain, Ann Sothern, Linda Darnell, Kirk Douglas and Paul Douglas. The event starts at 1:30 p.m. at the Avon Senior Center. Call 860-675-4355 to sign up.
  • The Parent Teacher Organization is hosting a showing of documentary American Teacher. There will be a discussion about the film afterward. Contact Randy Leaning for more information at at 860-675-6143. The event starts at 7 p.m. in high school's choral room. Admission is free.
