Christopher May and Council Sworn In, Chairperson Chosen

Republican Christopher May had his first meeting on the Avon Town Council as the only new member this term.

Mark Zacchio (R) was elected Thursday for a second term as chairman.

Unlike towns like Farmington that elect a town council chairman, in Avon, the council members nominate candidates for the chairman's seat and vote.

Zacchio, who has lived in Avon for 43 years, has been on the Town Council since 2005.
