Old Farms Road Closed for Maintenance

Old Farms Road will be closed between Thompson Road to Tillotson Road for maintenance until 2 p.m.

"We anticipate this will happen the next three days," Paul Welsh, Avon Public Works highway foreman, said.

Public Works is doing maintenance work on two small bridges in that section that have been hit by cars in the past, he said. There is also tree work that needs to be done in that area, he said.

Crews will also be replacing damaged guardrail poles and pulling back brush, Public Works Director Bruce Williams said.

The road will be closed in that section from about 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the next few days.

Motorists can access Old Farms Road from Waterville, but can only travel as far as Tillotson during those hours.
