PHOTOS: Malloy Tours Stony Corners, Winding Lane

After the Oct. 29 snowstorm, that may seem like an understatement.

The damage in Avon has started to catch the attention of Gov. Dannel P. Malloy, as Avon town officials are strongly voicing their safety concerns about several impassable roads.

Malloy toured Stony Corners Road, Stony Corners Way and Winding Lane in Avon just after 2 p.m. Friday.

Town Manager Brandon Robertson said that there is hardly a street in town without a tree down.

National Guards drove through Winding Lane Friday afternoon in a Military Police truck, helping to clear trees. They've been called in to help clear roadways that are impassable for emergency vehicles.

Eyewitness News 3 reported that Malloy talked to residents and came to check in on the National Guards' progress.
