Planning and Zoning to Review Application for Urgent Care Center

The commission meets Tuesday, Feb. 22 at 7:30 p.m.

Don Hammerberg Associates has submitted an application with Avon's office of planning and community development to build a Hartford Hospital urgent care center where Blockbuster used to be.

"Hartford Hospital would take its place," Steve Kushner, the town planner, said last week.

Architecture firm Don Hammerberg Associates is requesting permission to "modify the interior and facade of the existing building to house an urgent care facility," according to the agenda for the commission's Feb. 22 meeting, when the commission is scheduled to review the application. The site plan shows the addition of two stories to the 11,000-square-foot building on 339 West Main St.
