Streetlights Damaged in October Storm Functioning Again

The town and CL&P are collaborating to fix all the streetlights.

Streetlights damaged from the October Nor'easter have been repaired, Public Works Director Bruce Williams confirmed Wednesday based on an e-mail from Connecticut Light & Power.

Town Manager Brandon Robertson addressed the issue of several streetlight outages at a Town Council meeting Jan. 5.

The town worked with Connecticut Light & Power to determine precisely how many of the town's 830 street light were out or damaged. In some cases where streetlamps were knocked over in the storm, the poles were put back up, but the lights were not fixed, Robertson said.

Robertson said that CL&P set up a special unit to deal with the issue.
