Zacchio to Serve Another Town Council Term as Chairman

The council had its first meeting of the New Year on Jan. 9, 2014.

Mark Zacchio's peers on the Town Council, including two incumbents and two newcomers, have chosen him to serve as chairman for another term.

Town Clerk Ann Dearstyne swore in Zacchio and his fellow councilmen  – incumbents David Peña (D) and Douglas Evans (R), newcomer William Stokesbury, former Board of Education vice chairman, and Heather Maguire, who was elected after being appointed to finish out Christopher May's term in 2013 after he passed away – at the council's first meeting of the New Year on Thursday, Jan. 9.

In February, one of the major tasks the council members, new and veterans alike, will have is voting on a town budget to recommend to the Board of Finance.
