LUCKY 13! Avon Girls Varsity Field Hockey Team Does it Again!

Avon Field Hockey

The Avon Girls Field hockey team again shut out its opponent Suffield under the lights last night to tally up THIRTEEN consecutive wins!  Like a well-tuned orchestra, the team gracefully navigated the field scoring two goals; one by Senior Capatin Elle Crane assisted by junior Alana Pulling; the other by sophomore Caroline Schaefer assisted by Elle Crane.  Junior Goalie Nicole Andrew, supported by defenders & Senior captains Samatha Welch and Rachel Neuhoff, handily fended-off an agressive Suffield offense with 6 saves; one of which was a high fly batted out of no where!

As a 'grass team,' the Avon Girls were still able to outrun their opponents on their own turf, thanks to the conditioning skills of Coach Terri Ziemnicki!  Their prophicency in passing was nothing short of a symphony of athletic skill and power.

AVON GIRLS FIELD HOCKEY IS NOW RANKED #2 IN THE STATE!  Today they prepare for their toughest opponent, Granby, for a game scheduled for tomorrow (Thursday) at Granby.  Avon beat Granby earlier in the season 2-1 in an action-packed game.  Come join us in Granby tomorrow (weather permitting) to cheer the team on!  GO FALCONS!!!!!
