Avon Falcons Soar Over East Granby Tuesday

Avon High School senior Grace Lennon scored her first goal of the soccer season Tuesday, breaking a scoreless tie and netting the winning goal of a 4-0 bout against East Granby Tuesday.

The Falcon player scored the goal at the 16:59 mark, playing a long ball that soared over East Granby goalkeeper Brianna Ayers into the net.

The win at Fisher Meadows gives Avon a 9-1 record and East Granby drops to 2-8.

Avon senior Erica Primovic beat East Granby's goalie and scored the second goal with just over five minutes left in the first half off of an assist from Avon captain Sarah Gerali.  

Avon sophomore Caroline Smith scored 24 seconds into the second half off a pass from midfielder and captain Jenna Donahue. Smith also headed a ball off of a Gerali cross later in the half, scoring the fourth goal.

Kaylan Conrad and Emily Wright combined for the shutout with two saves, marking Avon's seventh shutout of the season.
