Sophomores Amanda Holtzman, Molly Hamel and Maddie McHugh and junior Sara Stokesbury placed fifth at the CIAC State Open in the 4-by-800-meter relay race Tuesday.
They finished in 9:47.09, according to mysportsresults.com.
Sophomore Chamiyah Roland also came in sevent in the 55-meter dash finals (7.62).
She, classmate Tara Shayler, junior Maeve Reiss and Stokesbury took 16th in the sprint medley relay.
Hamel crossed the finish line in eighth (11:31.55) for the 3,200-meter run.
Avon placed 34th as a team.
