Avon Public Schools Closed the Rest of the Week
Superintendent Gary Mala will assess later this week whether to open school next week.
There will be no school through Friday, Avon Superintendent Gary Mala announced Tuesday afternoon.
He will evaluate throughout the week whether there will be school next week and likely will announce that information on Friday.
Come Friday Avon will have six school cancellations so far this fall, including school closings in September due to Tropical Storm Irene that pushed the first day of school back a day.

Avon administrators are able to post school closings on the Avon Public Schools website, which is www.avon.k12.ct.us. They are also notifying parents through their voicemail alert system.
