Avon Public Schools have a two-hour delay Tuesday, according to the school website.
Morning kindergarten and pre-school classes are canceled.
Parent-teacher conferences at Avon Middle School are still on, following the two-hour delay adjusted schedule, and dismissal is at 2:15 p.m., the school website states.
"Lunches will be served," according to the school website.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning untill 11 a.m. as freezing rain and sleet are in the forecast. Snow accumulation could amount to 4 to 8 inches and there could be up to a tenth an inch of ice.
"Slippery driving conditions are likely this morning with a significant impact on this morning's commute," the weather service stated on its website.
