Avon Cross Country Team Wins Second Consecutive NCCC Championship

Rachael Rosow of Avon and Neal Hulstein of Ellington awere the overall winners in the NCCC Cross Country Championships at Windsor Locks High School Monday.

That's the second consecutive conference win and undefeated season in the NCCC for the Avon girls cross country team

Hulstein toured the 3.1 mile course in 16:30.50, nearly 19 seconds ahead of runnerup Jimmy Clark of Suffield. Rosow's time of 19:21.28 was almost 16 seconds ahead of second-place finisher Samantha Nyser of Bolton.

Ellington won the boys' varsity race with 53 points, edging Avon by nine points. Avon's 31 points easily outdistanced second-place Suffield (64) in the girls' varsity division.
