Avon students will go to school the first day back from winter vacation in the New Year, but the district announced there will be an early dismissal Thursday.
All afternoon and evening activities at Avon Public Schools are canceled Jan. 2.
Talcott Mountain Academy will be closed Thursday, according to NBC Connecticut.
