Avon Too Strong for Somers

The Falcons defeated the host Spartans 18-10 on Tuesday.

The girls' lacrosse team fell 18-10 to visiting Avon on Tuesday.

For Avon, Britt Douglass led the way with four goals and an assist. Emily Arciero had three goals, Margaret Margini had two goals and two assists, Riley Hagan had two goals and an assist, and Olivia Hammick and Hunter McCarthy scored two goals. 

Kaylan Conrad added a goal and an assist and Sammy Mayo scored one goal in the victory.

For Somers, Kristen Steidler led the way with three goals and an assist. Katie Morrell added two goals and an assist, and Jess Olynciw two goals. Marissa Fragomeni, Karen Trescott, and Samantha Gay also scored for the Spartans.

Paige Hammick made six saves for Avon while Heather MacLauchlan made 17 for Somers.

Somers (5-5) travels to Ellington on Friday. Avon (8-1) hosts Granby the same day.
