Avon Volleyball Advances 3-2 in Conference Play

The Avon High School varsity volleyball team won 3-0 over SMSA Monday.

Avon High School swept Sports & Medical Sciences Academy, of Hartford, 3-0 in a NCCC home varsity volleyball match Monday. 

The win (27-25, 25-22, 25-16) raises the Falcons 4-3 overall and 3-2 in the conference, while SMSA fell to a 2-5 season record and 1-4 in the NCCC.

Avon head coach Curtis Burns praised the peformances of junior Ariel Lepito (nine kills and aces) and seniors Mary Cate Culbertson (seven kills and five aces) and Mary Pearce (21 assists).

On Wednesday, Avon has a major NCCC match against Granby on its home court at 5:30 p.m.
