The Avon High School varsity volleyball had a 3-1 (20-25, 25-13, 25-17, 25-7) victory over Suffield Thursday away.
This is the first year that Suffield High School has had a volleyball program, according to Avon volleyball coach Curtis Burns.
Seniors Amanda Savarese (5 aces, 10 digs), Dana Rosato (11 kills, 3 aces) and Mary Cate Culbertson (6 aces, 5 kills) had standout performance, Burns said.

This puts Avon 6-3 overall and 5-2 NCCC play. Now, they prepare to face Conard-West Hartford on Oct. 11.
