Committee Narrows Down Search for New Avon High School Principal

Search committee nears the final interview stages to find a replacement for former principal Jason Beaudin.

School officials hope to interview the final candidates for Avon High School principal between May 2 and 9, according to material district leaders presented to the school board at its Tuesday meeting.

Board members, Superintendent Gary Mala, Assistant Superintendent Donna Nestler-Rusack, parents, PTO and booster club members, students, teachers and support staff have been involved in the search process for former high school principal Jason Beaudin's replacement. Beaudin, an Avon resident, left the district to become assistant superintendent for Guilford Public Schools at the start of the New Year.

In the meantime, John Sullivan is serving as interim principal until the end of the school year in June or until the search committee identifies the ideal candidate.

The final candidate or candidates will interview with search committee members, Mala, Nestler-Rusack and the Board of Education.
